The latest is the greatest – have you heard?  New enthusiastic converts are excited as they  moved on to the next, newest, greatest thing, spreading the good word with great eagerness and enthusiasm.  But no, this time it’s not about a new app, a new option in facebook, a new gadget … but a new alignment in health care with participants.

What’s exciting is that health care is becoming collaborative. Not just doctor to doctor on a particular case, but actually you and your doctor could be working as a team, with mutual respect for each other’s input, even including elements outside of conventional medicine.

No longer is the medically trained doctor or practitioner seen as the only valid expert in what ails you.  You as a client or patient could now be asked, “what do you put that problem down to?”  Fancy that!  You could be asked for your view about your health!  “What have you tried so far?”  “What results came from that?”  Instead of your side of your health experience being dismissed or treated as irrelevant or unimportant, you could actually be included in the consultation, the exploration, and the best way to proceed.

This of course is not new to natural health care practitioners.  As a kinesiologist since 1982, working with you as a client or a student, I want to know what you are aware of, what you have tried or researched, what information you already have, and what progress you have made.  Then I can add further, or fill in gaps, or correct misperceptions, so we are both on the same page.

Next step is to consult with your body, through muscle monitoring, to discover the best way to re-gain equilibrium and get back on the path of good health and wellbeing, plus reducing stress and increasing energy.  This is your body collaborating with you through muscle response monitoring, with a kinesiologist as interpreter of the body’s language, a real team approach to health care.  Compared with early days of natural health care, when only the doctor was considered as the authority, who prescribed a standard treatment to everyone, this is revolutionary, This latest is the greatest!
